🥭 Apple and Beetroot Halwa 🍠Ingredients:
- 1 medium-sized beetroot, peeled and grated
- 1 medium-sized apple, peeled, cored, and grated
- 1 cup water or milk
- 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
- 2 tablespoons jaggery (or sweetener of your choice)
- A pinch of ground cardamom
- A few chopped almonds or pistachios for garnish (optional)
- In a saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee over medium heat.
- Add the grated beetroot and sauté for a few minutes until it softens slightly.
- Pour in the water or milk and let the mixture simmer until the beetroot is fully cooked and tender.
- Add the grated apple to the saucepan and continue to cook until the apple softens and blends well with the beetroot.
- Stir in the jaggery (or sweetener) and ground cardamom, mixing well to incorporate the flavours.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of ghee to the mixture and cook for a few more minutes, stirring continuously until the halwa reaches a thick, pudding-like consistency.
Serving the Apple and Beetroot Halwa:
- Allow the halwa to cool down to a safe temperature before feeding your little one.
- Optionally, garnish with chopped almonds or pistachios for added texture and nutrients.
